nRF9160 Firmware Development
This is an Internet of Things (IoT) system that monitors distance, temperature, and battery level on the AWS IoT server. The device uses the nRF9160 SiP with integrated LTE-M/NB-IoT, GNSS, and Arm Cortex-M33. The firmware was developed using Zephyr RTOS, and it includes various functions such as I2C, ADC, PWM, OTA, MQTT communication between the device and AWS IoT Core, and tracking of the device’s location.
What We Did
- Developing the Zephyr RTOS
- Reading distance data from multiple vl6180 sensors via i2C,
- Reading the battery level and NTC thermistor
- Driving a PWM motor
- Integration into AWS IoT Core via MQTT,
- OTA firmware update,
- Tracking the location using GNSS,
- LTE-M/NB-IoT modem drivers,
